The time has come for NBA’s best sixteen teams to duke it out for the title. Fans all around are cheering and sportsbooks and agents are too. This due to the fact that the NBA playoffs is a time to increase their profits. Players all around are waiting for the lines to be posted to start betting. What better way to be ready than to be up to date with the playoff scenarios. Eight passionate match-ups started this past Saturday and Booking Per Head has the scoop.
The Golden State Warriors are the clear favorites for the title. They were matched up against one of the last teams to make it to the playoffs in the New Orleans Pelicans. How serious of a threat can the Pelicans be to the Warriors is to be seen. An interesting match-up is the one between the Portland Trail Blazers and the Memphis Grizzlies. Two teams with very different styles since the Blazers are an up tempo / 3 point prone team against Memphis grinding style of play. Defending champs San Antonio Spurs will have their first test to re validate their title against the LA Clippers. A hard challenge for the champs since the Clippers finished their season looking very strong in offense. Texas will be home to a showdown this year with Dallas Mavericks fighting the Houston Rockets for a place on the Conference Semifinals.
Although Houston is a clear favorite never count out the Mavericks during the playoffs.
Not finishing the regular season strongly shouldn’t be a problem for the Atlanta Hawks against the Brooklyn Nets. They swept them during their regular season games (4-0) and ended 22 victories ahead of them. With a team record of 60 season wins, we should be seeing the Hawks in Semifinals. A very even series should be the one between the Toronto Raptors and the Washington Wizards. The Raptors had 49 victories during the regular season (only 3 more than the Wizards) but they only have 1 playoff series victory in their history dating back to 2001. Number 3 seat the Chicago Bulls are favorites against the Milwaukee Bucks but that doesn’t mean the Bucks wont give a fight. If they can contain Chicago’s big names, we may see the underdog rise over the challenge. Although this was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Boston Celtics, come April they are in the playoffs. Their opponents are the Cleveland Cavaliers which ended the season on fire and with “King James” in the roster, they shouldn’t have no problems dispatching a brave Celtic team.
