Superbowl XLIX was one exciting game. From start to finish it was an action packed event that kept fans and gamblers alike on the edge of their seat. It is hard to foresee the outcome of any game, and sometimes the biggest game of the year may not be so good. Take for instance last year beat down of the Broncos by the Seahawks. It was neither exciting nor entertaining (maybe for the Seattle fans) since the Seahawks dominated Denver from start to finish. This years event was the complete opposite, with the score changing every quarter, interceptions and risky coaching decisions we were treated to an amazing game. It was one of the mentioned coaching decisions that made “Beast Mode” lose his chance to write his name in the history books.

Numbers Backing Him

With a total of 133 yards (102 rushing and 31 receiving) Lynch was set to become the MVP of Superbowl XLIX. As the Seahawks got to New England’s 1 yard after some dramatic plays, everybody was just waiting for the obvious play. Give the ball to Beast Mode and let him seal the victory. With an average of 4.25 yards per carry and 1 touchdown scored, everybody around the world including the Patriots were waiting for the run. But head coach Pete Carroll and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell had something else in mind. A quick pass that we all know were it ended and the consequences it brought.  People already call it the worst call in Superbowl history. Unfortunately for Marshawn this also meant lossing his second SuperBowl ring and the title of MVP. We may have lost the opportunity of some press conference history if Lynch had won the award, but unfortunately we will just have to imagine it.  Major surprises did the betting industry have this past NFL season, but we believe none such as the final play of Superbowl XLIX.
