Mayor League Baseball is already over the half season mark and a lot of roster movements are taking place. It is important for any agent or sportsbook to be aware of these trades and market movements in order to have the most updated lines possible. For the lack or addition of a player to a team can mean their downfall or their rise to greatness. In this respect we want to bring you the latest news from the MLB’s player market which has been very busy this past week.
Ex Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels has been traded to the Texas Rangers. This is quite surprising since he had to exercise his no-trade rights since the Phillies had already made a deal to send him to the Houston Astros. The Astros focused their eyes on David Price instead. The former Detroit Tigers pitcher was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays instead, for 3 prospect players. The Tigers who clearly are restructuring their roster also traded closer Joakim Soria to Pittsburgh Pirates for a Double A infielder. The New York Yankees have finally gotten their way (again) with a player they wanted. Second baseman and outfielder Dustin Ackley will be heading to the Big Apple and in exchange the Seattle Mariners will receive Ramon Flores and Jose Ramirez. Another outfielder changing teams is Milwaukee Brewers Carlos Gomez. Gomez who actually was speculated to be heading to the New York Mets will now join forces with the surprising Houston Astros. Many more moves and trades are still in the oven so we’ll just have to wait and see what else the market brings.
