One of NFL’s most interesting and important nights is here. The football kicking off will provide the NFL scene with excitement and anxiety. Starting this Thursday and for the next three of days, the 32 NFL teams will try to play with their cards to pick that special player that will boost their team to victory next season.

Draft rules have changed as the league has evolved. This year each of the 32 clubs receives one pick in each of the seven rounds of the NFL Draft. The order of selection is determined by the reverse order of finish in the previous season. In other words, it starts with the team that finished with the worst record and ends with the Super Bowl champions. Once teams are assigned their draft positions, the club’s executives can choose to either select a player or trade the pick to another team, to improve its position in the current or future drafts. “So, it’s certainly a strategic game with risky combinations. Which makes it pretty exciting.”

The first round will be held on this Thursday, April 28, at 8 p.m. in the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago. For this round, each team will have 10 minutes to make their pick. In the second round, teams get seven minutes to make picks and five minutes in rounds 3 to 6. Teams only have four minutes for their seventh round and compensatory draft picks. However, if a team runs out of time without making a pick, it can make a selection later, but it will lose a precious turn. The second and third rounds are on Friday, and rounds 4 to 7 are on Saturday.

Who To Watch

In the last weeks, sports news and media’s topics were full of trading rumors and pick selections. Most of them concur that players such as Memphis QB Paxton Lynch, North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz, Cal. QB Jared Goff, FSU DB Jalen Ramsey, Ohio State DE Joey Bosa, Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott, Oregon DE DeForest Buckner, UCLA LB Myles Jack, Clemson DE Shaq Lawson and Alabama LB Reggie Ragland will be in the top 10 picks. Nonetheless, we will have to wait and see which team plays their hand best and hits the pot.
